How a Songwriter Festival works:

A Songwriter Festival consists of multiple events over several days. Small venues across “Bayou Music City” (Morgan City, Patterson, Berwick, and Bayou Vista, Four Mile Bayou areas) will feature outstanding songwriters in 45 minute sets. Between 1-4 songwriters will perform each set, performing all original Material. Songwriters in americana, country, blues, folk, rock, and swamp pop will be featured, including many who have written hits for others, or themselves.

We are not charging the venues to host the festival, as it is our goal to bring music and business to the venues and create a successful venture for all.

Each Venue will have a Host and a Volunteer assigned to handle introductions, sound, and artist relations. This will will be managed by our Venue/Stage Manager, Tommy Ike Hailey.

The following venues will host the free shows:

We have multiple Festivals and Songwriters Groups/Series that will be featured at our festival. We were the first festival to ever incorporate such a cooperative effort, and we began this practice with our very first festival in 2017. Since then, many other festivals have come on board and are doing the same thing, and Songs On The Bayou has had a featured stage at several other festivals in FL, AL, and Louisiana.  We are proud of the progress we have made and are very proud to represent “Bayou Music City” at these events. The fact that we introduced this here, has given us a reputation of respect and innovation, contributing to our establishment of a Bayou Music City.

This year we have a featured stage for:

The Last Honky Tonk Music Series hosts the festival and we have as many of our members performing that schedules allowed.
