Mike Dias is a communicator, a connector, and a storyteller. He’s passionate about Customer Relationship Management systems and streamlining sales processes. As a professional in the Pro-Audio/Consumer Electronics space for more than 15 years, Mike joined Ultimate Ears Pro in 2004 as Director of Marketing and Communications. In that position, he created and managed the Artist Relations division for Ultimate Ears.  In June 2007, Mike became a music supervisor and content creator for the UE University website, Artists to Watch program and UE Presents, until becoming Director of Global Sales in early 2014. He also writes and manages the blog The Music Industry Insider.
His writings strive to help consumers, as well as industry professionals better understand the music industry and to contextualize how all the pieces and players are interconnected. After conducting extensive interviews of sound engineers, industry insiders and digital pioneers, Mike is able to connect the dots and see patterns of how everyone fits into the bigger music industry picture.
Having grown up in the American Southwest, his other passions include desert plants and native landscapes. His penchant for plant hunting has taken him all over the world including Asia, Africa and South America, where he got lost in the Amazon hunting for orchids and gold. He loves to cook — he even claims that his barbecue tri-tip can rival any Southern smokehouse — but more than anything, he just loves to eat his wife’s Peruvian cooking. He currently lives in New Hampshire where he enjoys permaculture gardening, fishing and the four seasons with his wife and daughter. He’s currently  wrapping up his first book — Nobody Likes Networking: How to navigate the landscape for success in any industry.
