Songs On The Bayou Songwriters Festival in Morgan City, LA,( in association with 3rd Street Songwriters Festival in Baton Rouge and Cypress Sawmill Festival in Patterson) is an exciting six day event of music, culture, and entertainment highlighting our unique Bayou experience to songwriters and music lovers across the country, as well as accenting the local music scene. A six day event, March 25-31, 2019, Songs On The Bayou will offer Bayou Sunset Pickin’ Parties, a Fais-Do-Do, Workshops, Conference, Swamp Tours and multiple Featured Songwriter shows all across Morgan City and surrounding areas. Featuring LHTMS Artists, Nashville Hit Songwriters, Outlaw Country Legends, Jazz and Blues Specialists, and Featured Writers from multiple Songwriting Festivals in the country, along with rising talent in the Country, Blues, Cajun, Zydeco, Outlaw Country and Americana Genres. Over 100 performers! This will be ten days of Bayou fun, music magic, and camaraderie and an experience of a lifetime!
Music transmutes all boundaries and creates a connection and community of Spirit. With Morgan City, LA being the headquarters location of our National Last Honky Tonk Music Series, our intent is to build a “national music hometown”, thereby fostering this connectivity and inspiring a culture of positive influence. Our end goal is to see a thriving city filled with live music venues and various creative outlets for our residents, support for our own local area musicians and programs for our youth, as well as create a burgeoning tourist destination that contributes to our local economy. Let’s introduce the Spirit of Morgan City LA to the world, with our Entertainment, Bayou Essence, and our incredible Cajun Culture, Food and Hospitality.

D.a.T. SaUcE Songwriter Opportunity
DaT SaUcE NATIONAL SONGWRITERS OPPORTUNITY. Winners will receive cash awards and another amenities, including the opportunity to appear on stage during the March 25-13, 2019, Road To 3rd Street Songs On The Bayou Songwriting Festival. The contest entry deadline is March 1, 2019. It is absolutely FREE to apply.
All winners will win a spot on the Bayou Songwriters Retreat during the festival, which is on on approximately 20,000 acres of scenic southern Louisiana Bayou waters, swamps and marshes, outside of Patterson, LA. They will have the opportunity to write alone or with members of the Last Honky Tonk Music Series. All winners will also receive spotlight performances during the festival and two cases of DaT SaUcE and DaT KeTcHuP. Winners will receive full accommodations but must provide their own airfare/travel. Awards: 1st Place (all genres) $500, 2nd Place (all genres) $250, 3rd Place (all genres) $100. Best Blues Song $500, Best Gospel Song $500. Best D.a.T. SaUcE Song $250, Best D.a.T. SaUcE Commercial (30 sec or 60 sec) $500.
